Yeshi Gaskin Lamour, Chair
Yeshi Gaskin Lamour is one of the founding design team members of the Felix Commonwealth Virtual School (CMVS) and is the current chair of the Felix CMVS board. After graduating from Boston Latin School (BLS), she earned her Bachelor’s of Science (BS) degree from Lesley University in Management, a Master’s degree in Elementary and Special Education from Boston College where she was also a recipient of the Donovan Urban Teaching Scholar award.
She holds an advanced degree in school leadership from Northeastern University via the Principal Residency Network (PRN), is an alumni of the Lynch Leadership Academy (LLA) at Boston College, and has earned her Ed.D from Boston College’s Lynch School in educational leadership. She taught in the Boston Public School district for over 6-years and served as a math teacher (11/12th grade), teacher leader, and an inclusion teacher (2nd/4th grade).
Mrs. Lamour also served as a coordinator of special education and student support. She has been a school leader for over ten years and served as a champion for children in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for her entire career.
In her downtime, Yeshi is an avid snowboarder, enjoys reading realistic fictional novels, is a world traveler, and a proud mom of two wonderful boys.

Brandon Cardet-Hernandez,
Vice Chair
Brandon Cardet-Hernandez is the Founder and CEO of Medley Learning, where he is building adaptive AI-powered tools that help multilingual learners access grade-level content through scaffolded supports. A former multilingual learner, teacher, and turnaround principal, he has worked across classrooms, schools, government, and product leadership. He previously served as President of award-winning literacy company, Mrs Wordsmith; as Director of Strategic Initiatives for the New York City Department of Education, supporting school turnaround strategy and efforts; and as Senior Education Advisor to Mayor Bill de Blasio, helping advance major education initiatives, including the expansion of early childhood education. Throughout his career, Brandon has remained focused on improving outcomes for students who are too often underserved.
Brandon currently serves on the Massachusetts Council for Latino Empowerment and sits on the boards of EdVestors, The Leadership Academy, and The Huntington Theater. In 2026, he finished his term as an appointed member on the Boston School Committee. His work has been featured in The Atlantic, People en Español, Essence Magazine, CNN, and the Netflix documentary, Teach Us All. He is also the host of Leading Multilingual Learning, a podcast highlighting the research, practice and creativity within the multilingual learning community.
Founder and CEO, Medley Learning
Ross Wilson is the Executive Director of the Shah Family Foundation, a Boston-based foundation focused on education, health care and community. The Shah Foundation has partnered with local and state governments to create innovative solutions to pressing challenges. Prior to this position, he spent almost two decades serving the Boston Public Schools in a variety of roles including Deputy Superintendent, Chief of Staff, Assistant Superintendent for Human Capital, Principal, kindergarten teacher, literacy specialist, and teacher of students with disabilities.
He holds Bachelor's Degrees in Special Education, Elementary Education, and Psychology, and a Masters Degree in Educational Psychology from Marist College; a Masters Degree in Education Leadership from the University of Massachusetts Boston; a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Boston College; and is an alumnus of Harvard Business School. He lives with his wife and three sons in Boston.

Laura Tavares is an educator and nonprofit leader who has dedicated her career to helping schools and communities reimagine what education can be. After teaching in New York City and Boston, Laura held a variety of leadership positions at the global non-profit Facing History and Ourselves.
As Executive Director of the non-profit WPS Institute, Laura leads the organization's work to help schools and communities build capacity, resources and networks for innovation.
A first-generation college graduate of Wellesley College and a Rhodes Scholar with graduate degrees from Oxford, Laura brings both personal and professional experience to creating learning ecosystems that are engaging, connected to the real world, and designed to foster youth agency and purpose.

Steven Levitt
Steve Levitt is Professor Emeritus of Economics at the University of Chicago, co-author of Freakonomics and host of the People I (mostly) Admire podcast. In 2003, he won the John Bates Clark Medal, awarded to the most influential American economist under the age of 40, and in 2006 he was one of TIME Magazine’s “100 People who Shape our World” in 2006. His podcast was named “best interview podcast” by Adweek in 2021. His current focus is developing innovative K-12 schools.
